ABOUT ME

About.

KNOWLEDGE THROUGH CURIOSITY.

My interests drive me to push my knowledge and limits daily. A day isn't complete unless I've learned something to progress my skills.

Hey all, thanks for visiting my site!

Over the past few years, I've been working to transition my career from a primarily Oil & Gas - Quality, Design, and Engineering background into Information Security. Throughout my career I have become well-rounded in many aspects of technology and have spent years teaching myself how to build accurate, usable 3D models, and programs for different aspects of the Oil & Gas industry while building a successful business around these skills. The downside to my work has always required me to be project-based and away from my home, friends, and family.

In 2017 I decided that it was time to follow an interest I've had for years and to develop my skills in Information Security with the destination of becoming a professional Penetration Tester. My Oil & Gas work was extremely busy throughout this period but I enrolled in the Penetration Testing with Kali Linux course with Offensive Security in 2018. Work was allowing me only an hour or two a day – if any time at all – to work on the course materials and the labs. With what limited time I had, I needed to keep pushing through the course material and learn the required skills to pass the exam; I wanted the certification SO BAD. I finally completed the course materials along with the labs and passed the OSCP certification exam on the first attempt in November of 2019.

Still playing in HTB, random CTF events, and starting the Offsec AWAE and OSEP courses, I've continued my work in the Oil & Gas industry up until the spring of 2021. I was then able to do two things I've wanted to do for a long time: work full-time as a Penetration Tester, and join the Synack Red Team! I went to work remotely for Vumetric Cybersecurity based out of Eastern Canada, which has been a great learning experience and a lot of fun! After five months of full-time work with Vumetric I was forced to re-evaluate a few things from both a financial and personal perspective. With a baby on the way, working full-time in security, working on OSEP and OSWE studies, Synack Red Team duties, trying to fulfill obligations on Oil & Gas contracts, and still be a keystone part of my household, I had to change something. I've since decided to leave the job that I wanted so badly in order to complete more certifications and grow my professional skill set that will allow me to focus on opportunities I am truly interested in for the long-term.

My days are now being spent working on the Synack platform and studying for the OSEP exam, with plans to complete the OSWE and OSED afterwards. I am driven by passion and genuine interest in the Information Security field and can manage teams of people, client expectations, and project deliverables.
